And these selections - Two (2) Full Shows, including both the " Bob & Rob " set - along with the two J. For' both-nights' -- and they flat-out Rock! Keep in mind, as you are likely already aware... Way-back in'89, on this Fall Tour by the J. Weir & Wasserman were opening! And these were the early-days of " Bob & Rob " jamming their new Acoustic thing - and, as for the Garcia Band...Well, the fact is - this was their 1st return Back East for 2-Years dating back to the NYC Lunt-Fontanne Broadway run! And prior to that, wow...

Dating back to the early 2000's (2004 specifically), we are finally seeing & hearing! Being released with consistency - & Thankfully! But, as far as these powerful Bob & Rob Acoustic Shows! This is very-special indeed, as I believe there has only ever been one release? And that was a release in the Mid-'90's (1997) release, simply titled' Weir and Wasserman Live'! I've always thought these Bob / Rob Shows had some very-special & serious Muscle! But, they are really the type of Show that you have had to have seen Live! - as when you saw them, and especially up close - their in-sync talent could blow you away!Or, should I more appropriately say... And, as far as Garcia? As this is indeed this 1989-90 era pocket that we are talking about here, and Jerry could really do no-wrong. Through & through -- and oh man, when he was' really' in the-mood... Tiger's fret board would seriously pay the price!!!
There are parts on this Fall'89 run that he just Hammers! His vocals are strong, his tones are brisk, and when he wanted to get moody? Here comes the' Real' King of Rock'n Roll! - right through the PA's - taking No! Basically, a live & in person Deadhead dream... And on the East Coast! - which, is pretty key being that the J. Only really toured Back East two (2) more times after this run, in 1991, and again one final / last time in 1993. This, along with many other' good' reasons is why this guy me! Had to go & live as close as possible to the Warfield - back in the Early-'90s. Because as the old saying does indeed go... Well, there are Four (4) CD's of that Garcia-Magic!
